Cloud Trends for 2022

Cloud trends 2022

Over the past year, Cloud technologies have proven to be the future of business. Organizations that focus on cost efficiency, easy scalability, globalization, sustainable growth, and smooth uninterrupted workflow go for cloud solutions. With more and more companies migrating to the cloud and elaborating their cloud strategies, it is important to be aware of the 2022 Cloud trends.

1. Hybrid and multi-cloud at the rise.

Many companies, especially dynamic start-ups, adopt a so-called “Cloud-first” strategy nowadays. Using the Cloud as the main platform allows businesses to cut down on capital investments while having more flexibility. However, there are plenty of hybrid approach adepts that prefer to keep their critical business apps in their data centers (on-premises) and utilize the benefits of several cloud providers at the same time. For example, a company might host its CRM on Microsoft Azure and use AWS for front-end applications. All Cloud providers have their pros and cons, so a multi-Cloud strategy allows for the best possible mix.

2. Containerization

The demand for getting applications ready for cloud migration increases. So, monolithic legacy applications architecture needs to be changed to a microservice-based solution. Microservice-based applications are required to be containerized. Containers gain popularity because they help developers increase the speed of delivery and provide agility, portability, and modernization. Experts estimate that in 2022 over 75% of companies and organizations will run containerized applications against today’s 30%.

3. Artificial intelligence in the Cloud

Cloud computing is at the core of artificial intelligence (AI) service’s deliverance. Machine learning platforms need significant processing power and data bandwidth, cloud datacentres make that possible. Most of the modern AI we interact with every day, from search engines to photo and video filters, are hosted in the cloud. And the technology that routes traffic from data centers to our devices is built on machine learning. The development and evolution of cloud and AI are closely interrelated, and this tendency is expected to last through 2022 and beyond.

4. The Rise of serverless concept

The key Cloud market players, such as Amazon (AWS Lambda), Microsoft (Azure Functions), and IBM Cloud Functions are actively developing a serverless Cloud concept. This concept is aimed to provide a pay-as-you-go service where the infrastructure scales invisibly to application requirements. Sure, there are still some physical servers involved, but this concept adds one more layer of abstraction between users and the platform. This means that users don’t need to deal with configurations and technicalities anymore.

5. Strict regulatory control and high demand for compliance experts

Security and data privacy importance results in strict regulations for businesses and cloud providers. As data management and compliance become an area of critical concern for executives and business owners, there is expected to be a rise in demand for skilled and experienced data governance and compliance professionals.

Cloud adoption is more than just a trend. Cloud is here to stay, and organizations need to plan an effective cloud approach. If you have more questions about the cloud Klik
