What is “Hope – Children of Ukraine”?

This initiative, now established as a non-profit organization and in existence for over three years, is dedicated to aiding children affected by the war in Ukraine. Our mission is to create positive change by providing comprehensive support, including educational programs, personal development, psychological aid, and humanitarian assistance. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to:

Provide Psychological Help: Hundreds of children have received counseling to help them cope with the trauma of war. Through therapy, these children have begun to heal and rediscover hope.
Support Education: Despite displacement and challenges, children are continuing their education through our programs. Remote learning tools, English classes, and school supplies are helping them stay on track academically.

Foster Personal Development: Workshops and activities have empowered children to explore their talents, develop skills, and rebuild their confidence.

Here’s what we’ve achieved together:

More than 250 children have access to educational programs.
Over 4,000 English language lessons were delivered in one year.
More than 550 individual psychological sessions were provided for teenagers.
60 children with disabilities received Christmas gifts.

In 1981, college buddies Steve Pappas and Tommy Dickerson bought Ocean City’s English-style pub, The Greene Turtle, and transformed it into a beloved sports bar.

By 2010, the Greene Turtle was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the fastest growing sports bar franchise in the nation.

2016 marked their 40th anniversary and they’re not slowing down anytime soon.

In 2023 they introduced the Sportsbook! The Greene Turtle takes a leap into the world of Sports Gaming with two new exciting openings in Canton & Towson.
