Implementing New Priorities in 2022 for IT leaders

Klik solutions team

IT leaders spent most of 2021 searching for the most effective ways of transitioning to hybrid work and the perfect technologies that would make it possible. A complex process, it has not been limited solely to tech solutions as shifts in company culture were also required for the smooth transition to hybrid work. During the pandemic, employee expectations changed, and organizations quickly realized they must adapt to allow flexibility and equal involvement. Summarizing experts’ opinions on the implementation of new priorities in 2022: IT issues must be focused on from a user-centric perspective.

1. Putting the User at the Heart of IT Planning

The concept of the user-centric approach has existed for some time, but the pandemic has accelerated its necessity. For IT leaders this changed thinking surrounding investments and future construction of corporate IT systems. Involving IT requirements allowing large numbers of teammates to work remotely there exist significant ramifications in terms of infrastructure and tool deployment. Hybrid work has rapidly become the new normal meaning IT deployment has dramatically changed.

2. Considering Personal Experience with Technology

Throughout the pandemic, people were exposed to the new and innovative technology in their everyday lives. Companies like Instacart and Amazon revolutionized the way consumers shopped. Digital interaction tools — Zoom, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams —became major means of communication. Millions of professionals were engaging with these systems at home and upon switching back to corporate systems, they found them comparatively clumsy and inefficient, bringing about a shift in employee expectations for technologies used. Companies must make a concerted effort in transitioning internal IT systems to become more user-centric, attractive, and easy to use.

3. Including Emotional Design in IT Strategy

A dually designed highly functional and attractive product will assist people in performing complex tasks more efficiently. User-friendliness is crucial. Apple and Tesla are notable examples of companies succeeding in the combination of innovative technology and attractively designed software with an aesthetic touch. When implementing solutions and systems that have been intelligently designed, assuming your employees understand clearly how they work, expect an increase in team productivity and the accomplishment of complex tasks.

Finding innovative ways to collaborate in hybrid work environments can enable more successful collaboration, which will be key in the coming year.
